Recently, Shanghai World Expo Performance Arts Center was successfully top-sealed on its construction steel work. Up to this date, Baosteel has completed the manufacturing mission for 3 permanent construction steel works of World Expo Center, China Pavilion and the Performance Arts Center.
In the general planning of this Shanghai World Expo, the solution of "one axis and four pavilions" was adopted, i.e. World Expo axis, World Expo Center, Main Theme Pavilion, China Pavilion and the Performance Center. Baosteel has committed itself to the manufacturing mission for 3 permanent construction steel works of the World Expo Center, China Pavilion and the Performance Arts Center.
The World Expo Center has a total construction area of 142, 000 square meters and a total steel work fabrication and installation of above 13, 000 tons. The China Pavilion, with a reputation of "crown of the orient world", has a total fabricated steel work of above 10, 000 tons and is designed with special features with 16 huge-sized bracing columns which have posed extreme difficulty for the fabrication of the steel work. The Performance Arts Center, with an outlook of "flying butterfly", is the most typical steel work construction among the Shanghai World Expo projects, and in addition to huge steel work consumption it is of great difficulty on manufacturing. |
